As you may have heard from various News outlets, Zcash has been delayed for further security Auditing. Although it is a little disappointing that we won’t be seeing the launch at the end of September as expected these security audits are absolutely necessary to ensure that Zcash is as secure a platform as it can be.
In addition to the security audits the Zcash team is also testing their work on various hardware architectures including CPU, GPU, and ARM to understand how Zcash performance is affected by each.
Ultimately this delay will produce a much better performing and more secure currency than if the team had just tried to push the Genesis out by some arbitrary date. I will keep you updated as I hear anything more concrete about the Launch.
Also, as a side note, I have stopped the countdown timer on this site until I have a more detailed picture of when Zcash will officially launch.
